Éprave
About this Place
Éprave is a small village in the Belgian Ardennes, close to Rochefort in the province of Namur. With its traditional stone buildings, village church and peaceful rural surroundings, it is an attractive example of the small communities scattered across this part of Wallonia.
The village is home to Brasserie de la Lesse, a cooperative brewery established in a former brewery building. Unlike some of Belgium's larger brewery visitor destinations, Brasserie de la Lesse sits comfortably within the village itself, with a shop, bar and terrace that provide a pleasant reason to stop.
The wider area is perhaps better known for Rochefort and its celebrated Trappist abbey, Notre-Dame de Saint-Rémy, where Rochefort beers are brewed. The abbey's brewery is not open to ordinary visitors, however, making Brasserie de la Lesse an interesting alternative for anyone wishing to experience a working brewery in this part of the Ardennes.
