About this Brewery

Brasserie de la Senne was started and is still owned by two brewers, Yvan Beets and Bernard Leboucq, in Brussels. They operate out of a small brewery using traditional methods - unfiltered, unpasteurised, free of additives, using the finest ingredients - while embracing modern design and tastes. The brewers say they were at the forefront of the craft beer movement in Belgium, embracing strong hoppy tastes before they became trendy.

The Brasserie also has a bar and small shop selling their own beers and branded goods on site.

Curator's Note

I visited in August 2026. The shop sells the brewery's merch, including glasses, t-shirts, beer mats and more. Plus all their beers.

The bar has a large indoor seating area, and a series of long benches outside. The system for ordering and paying for beers is a little...unusual. Order and pay at a till, then collect your drinks from the bar. It all works, but is perhaps less familiar than how things work in many other bars in Brussels.

The bar also serves food, which I didn't try but plenty of customers were doing so and the portions looked hearty!

Dog-friendly

I didn't take my dog on this visit, but she would have been allowed on the outside terrace.
